Book: Guide to the psychiatry of old age (Ames Chiu Lindesay Shulman 1e 2010)
Guide to the psychiatry of old age
Ames, D., Chiu, E., Lindesay, J., & Shulman, K. I. (2012). Guide to the psychiatry of old age. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.

Almost another month slips past without me uploading more reviews; but, I have been busy and there are at least three books I've been reading since I last wrote (four books if you count Toby the Tram Engine: I will!).
The title I am acknowledging here - Guide to the psychiatry of old age - is an excellent resource in all of 136 pages... You learn about the three D's: Dementia, Delerium, and Depression; what differentiates them from each other and how they may affect comorbidities (other diseases or conditions). You will also gain some insight into how these diseases will affect older people as against younger patients; in reasonably easy to read language. The references are few, but highly focussed and reputable. Highly recommended.
Other reading of related texts
Foundations of clinical psychiatry (Bloch & Singh 3e 2007): reviewed earlier. As a pair of books to learn more about mental health related issues, especially here in Australia, I would highly recommend Foundations of Clinical Psychiatry along with Guide to the psychiatry of old age.

Please Note: I do not strictly follow APA style in these citations as I would like various technology and media to be able to access these pages.

Unless otherwise noted all books listed were in my personal library at the time of the first blog posting about the book. Some titles were borrowed from RMIT University libraries during the period 2006-2016, or from Hobsons Bay City Council library.
