Review
A quick review because I'll need to come back and edit... For me this was a fascinating read: human communications in public relations, marketing, reporting (business; government; managerial...), news (media), etc., is based on making others aware of a topic. I've come from a media and communications background, therefore I was initially trained in the methods used by media to raise awareness. But how do we really inform others? Elsewhere I've listed books on learning, especially adult learning (androgogy), but this is a book about teaching methods and when to use them. From that perspective the book makes a lot of sense to me.
I found the Summary Chart for each chapter a useful roadmap. Each Chart begins with a Syntax of the model described in the chapter, the Social System it is used in, Principles of Reaction, and Support System. I hope to populate the rest of this page with a list of all the Summary Charts.
In the meantime, I have a train I have to catch!

While I have yet to finish the first two books in this list [...March 2020] I did read the title Understanding curriculum: The Australian context. While it was an interesting read for someone outside the school education system, I found the text lacking in academic and research rigour. The book was more of a manifesto written "from the trenches" and its thesis is that all Australian primary and secondary scool education should be teacher-devised content and curriculum: perhaps written in reaction curriculum prepared by subject matter experts and professionals outside the (then) unionised school teaching system.
