Australia has moved from a country of primary production and manufacturing, to supply, warehousing, distribution and logistics. I've worked for a Small-Medium enterprise that acted as a national distributor of imported goods; and I've worked for a multinational NGO that supplied their national chain of second-hand shops. And being the project manager of a $1.3m government information roadshow meant that I had to make, lease or buy everything from an internet-enabled caravan to the six forms of insurance to cover the caravan being out on the road. Therefore, reading these books on Purchasing and Supply Management, Contract Law (Aus) and Logistics has helped me understand how these systems work; the books enabled me to talk to professionals in these fields in language they understand; and they've given me a good understanding of the options of which contractto use when planning involves signing contracts for making, leasing, or buying goods or services.
